Prices in USD. Yearly billing saves up to 28% (the 10M-token Pro tier is $25 monthly or $18/mo yearly). Higher Pro tiers cost more; Bolt's billing help uses $50/mo for 26M tokens and $100/mo for 55M as examples. Token reloads, which don't expire, are available on the top monthly Pro tier and on any annual Pro plan. Bolt Forge is a research preview: the pricing page says it's included with Pro until Oct 18, 2026, and it isn't offered on Teams or Enterprise.

Why builders look for Bolt alternatives

Bolt meters building in tokens, and Bolt says most token use comes from syncing your project's files to the AI, so the larger the project, the more tokens each message costs. Free stops at 300K tokens a day and 1M a month, and a Free site that goes past 10 GB of bandwidth or 333,333 requests in a month stays offline until the next one. Teams is priced per member, and members don't share tokens. Also worth checking: a new Model training setting lets Bolt use projects and chats created on or after Oct 7, 2026 to train AI models. It's on by default except for accounts in the EU, UK and Switzerland, and turning it off doesn't change your plan. Other reasons people switch: they want one credit balance for a whole team, a Next.js app on Vercel, a no-code builder that handles payments, or a real code editor once the project gets serious.

The alternatives, ranked

  1. 01

    Lovable

Closest like-for-like swap: Lovable turns a prompt into a web app with its own back end (Lovable Cloud: database, auth, storage), and it can import a Bolt project directly. The import dialog walks you through exporting from Bolt, then Lovable rebuilds the code and moves your database and users to Lovable Cloud. Import works on every plan and uses credits. Git sync to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket also works on every plan, Free included. Free is $0 with 5 daily build credits (up to 30 a month). Pro is $25/mo for 100 credits ($250/yr), the same monthly price as Bolt Pro, and Business is $50/mo. Lovable prices by credits, not seats, so unlimited teammates share one balance instead of paying $30 each as on Bolt Teams. Students get 50% off the 100-credit Pro plan for up to 12 months.

๐Ÿ’ณ Free (5 daily credits, up to 30/mo); Pro from $25/mo; Business from $50/mo (approx.)
  2. 02

    Replit Agent

Best when you need a real back end or a native mobile app: Replit Agent builds web and mobile apps in Replit's cloud workspace, with databases, publishing and connectors in one place. Mobile apps are native iOS and Android apps you can test on your phone with Expo Go, and Replit's Launch feature builds, signs and uploads the iOS app to App Store Connect for TestFlight and the App Store. The free Starter plan gives daily Agent credits up to a monthly cap, Free Mode and Lite build, and 1 published app that goes down after 30 days and carries a "Made with Replit" badge. Core is $20/mo ($18/mo billed annually) with $20 of credits toward more powerful models, and it unlocks Full build, Plan Mode, connectors, unlimited published apps and up to 5 builders. Pro is $100/mo ($90/mo annually) with $100 of credits, 10 parallel agents, up to 15 collaborators and 28-day database rollback.

๐Ÿ’ณ Free Starter plan; Core $20/mo; Pro $100/mo (approx.)
  3. 03

    v0

Best for Next.js front ends and teams already on Vercel: v0 builds with Next.js, Tailwind and shadcn/ui, deploys to Vercel, syncs with GitHub, has a visual Design Mode, and adds databases (Neon, Supabase, Upstash, Vercel Blob) through the Vercel Marketplace. Free is $0 with $5 in one-time credits for new users and a 7-message daily limit. Plus is $30/user/mo with $30 of monthly credits plus $2 of free daily credits on login. Business is $100/user/mo and opts you out of model training by default; on Enterprise your data is never used for training. Usage is billed per token by model, from v0 Mini ($0.20 input / $1.20 output per million tokens) to v0 Max ($5 / $25).

    ๐Ÿ’ณ Free (7 messages/day); Plus $30/user/mo; Business $100/user/mo (approx.)
  4. 04

    Base44

Best all-in-one for non-developers: Base44 builds the front end, back end, database, user auth and payments from plain-language prompts. Free is $0 with 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month and up to 5 apps. Paid plans, billed annually: Starter $16/mo (100 message credits, unlimited apps, in-app code edits, your own domain), Builder $40/mo (250), Pro $80/mo (500) and Elite $160/mo (1,200). GitHub integration starts on Builder. Annual billing saves 20% on every paid plan.

๐Ÿ’ณ Free plan; paid from ~$16/mo (Starter, billed annually) up to Elite ~$160/mo (approx.)
  5. 05

    Cursor

Best when you outgrow builders and want an editor: connect your Bolt project to GitHub or download it as a zip, then open the code in Cursor and keep going with an AI editor. Cursor has a Free plan ($0) with limited use of Cursor's own models. Plus is $8/mo but only includes Grok models. Premium ($30/mo) adds third-party models such as Claude and GPT, billed at API list price. Super is $100/mo and Ultra $200/mo, with more usage.

๐Ÿ’ณ Free tier; paid plans from $8/mo (Plus) up to $200/mo (Ultra); Teams from $30/user/mo (approx.)
  6. 06

    Claude Code

Best when you outgrow builders and want an agent to do the work: Claude Code reads your codebase, edits files and runs commands from the terminal, IDE extensions, a desktop app and the browser. Point it at your exported Bolt repo and give it the bigger, multi-file changes. It isn't on Claude's Free plan. Pro is $20/mo ($17/mo billed annually, $200 up front) and Max starts at $100/mo. Claude Code shares one usage pool with your Claude chats, or you can pay per token with a Console (API) account.

๐Ÿ’ณ Included with Claude Pro ($20/mo US), Max (from $100/mo) and every Team seat (from $20/seat/mo billed annually), or pay via API usage (approx.)

How to choose

Want the same prompt-to-app flow with a built-in back end? Lovable (Pro $25/mo, same as Bolt Pro), which can import your Bolt project. Need a native mobile app or a heavier back end? Replit (Core $20/mo), or stay on Bolt, which builds mobile apps with Expo. Building on Next.js and Vercel? v0 (Plus $30/user/mo). Not technical and want everything in one place, including payments? Base44 (Starter $16/mo billed annually). Your Bolt app is getting complex? Sync it to GitHub and continue in Cursor or with Claude Code. On a tight budget? Every builder on this list has a $0 plan, Google AI Studio is free to start, and Bolt's own Lite plan is $9/mo if you're fine with open-source models only.

Taking your project with you

Bolt says all code you create with Bolt and StackBlitz is your own, including for commercial use. To take it elsewhere, download the project as a zip (project title > Export > Download), or connect GitHub, which backs up every change and lets you work in GitHub or another editor and come back to Bolt later. Your data needs its own step: you can export table rows as CSV or JSON from Bolt's database view, and on Pro or Teams you can claim your Bolt database into your own Supabase account. Lovable's importer has guided export steps for Bolt and asks for your database export so it can move your records and users. If you only want different hosting, Bolt can publish to Netlify instead of Bolt hosting. The move works the other way too: Bolt documents importing a Lovable project through GitHub.

What's new at Bolt this fall

Bolt Forge launched Sep 14, 2026 as a third agent next to Standard and Max. It runs open-source models (GLM 5.3, GLM 5.3 Flash, Kimi K3 and DeepSeek v4 Pro) and, by Bolt's estimate on GLM 5.3 Flash, gives up to 50x more usage than Standard. It came with Bolt Lite, a $9/mo plan that only uses Forge. Forge is a research preview: Bolt's pricing page says it's included with Pro until Oct 18, 2026, and it isn't available on Teams or Enterprise. Forge sessions are de-identified and used by Bolt's partners to train open-source models (sessions from the EEA, UK and Switzerland are excluded). Bolt also added comments on project previews that you can send to the agent as a prompt (Oct 5-11) and the Model training setting described above.

Also considered

Google AI Studio's Build mode is the most interesting free option: it creates a full-stack app (React front end, Node.js server) or a native Android app (Kotlin and Jetpack Compose) from a prompt, can set up Firestore and Firebase Authentication for you, syncs two ways with GitHub, and deploys to Cloud Run. New users can deploy up to two full-stack apps on the Google Cloud Starter Tier with no billing account. Skip Firebase Studio: it closed to new users and workspaces on June 22, 2026 and shuts down on March 22, 2027. Google Antigravity (free for individuals, with unlimited Tab completions and basic weekly rate limits) is a strong next step if you'd rather code with agents.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Bolt.new?

Lovable is the closest like-for-like: the same prompt-to-app flow with a built-in back end, Pro is also $25/mo, and it can import a Bolt project directly. Pick Replit for a native mobile app or more backend control, v0 for Next.js on Vercel, and Base44 if you want everything, including payments, without touching code.

Is there a free alternative to Bolt?

Yes. Lovable Free (5 daily build credits, up to 30 a month), Replit Starter (daily Agent credits, 1 published app for 30 days), v0 Free ($5 in one-time credits for new users, 7 messages a day) and Base44 Free (25 message credits a month, up to 5 apps) all cost $0. Google AI Studio's Build mode is free to start, and new users can deploy up to two full-stack apps without a billing account. Bolt's own Free plan gives 300K tokens a day and 1M a month.

Is Bolt cheaper than Lovable?

For one person, the entry price is the same: Bolt Pro and Lovable Pro are both $25/mo. Billed yearly, Bolt Pro is $18/mo and Lovable Pro is $250 a year (about $21/mo). Bolt gives from 10M tokens a month with no daily limit; Lovable gives 100 credits a month plus 5 daily build credits. For teams, Bolt Teams is $30 per member/mo with tokens per person, while Lovable prices by credits and lets unlimited members share them. Bolt also has a $9/mo Lite plan limited to open-source models.

Can I move my Bolt project to Lovable, Cursor or Claude Code?

Yes. For Lovable, start an import from the Lovable dashboard: it shows guided export steps for Bolt, rebuilds the code and moves your database and users to Lovable Cloud, using credits. For Cursor or Claude Code, connect your Bolt project to GitHub or download it as a zip, then open the folder in Cursor or run Claude Code in it. Export your database rows as CSV or JSON, or on Pro or Teams claim the Bolt database into your own Supabase account.

What is Bolt Lite?

A $9/mo Bolt plan that only uses Bolt Forge, the agent built on open-source models such as GLM 5.3 and Kimi K3. You can build and publish web and mobile apps with Bolt's database, but you don't get the Standard or Max agents, custom domains, AI image generation, security scans or Supabase, and the Made in Bolt badge stays on your site. Forge sessions are de-identified and used to train open-source models, except sessions from the EEA, UK and Switzerland.

Which Bolt alternative is best for mobile apps?

Replit: it builds native iOS and Android apps you can test with Expo Go, and its Launch feature builds, signs and uploads your iOS app to App Store Connect for TestFlight and the App Store. Google AI Studio can generate a native Android app in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. If you'd rather stay put, Bolt itself builds mobile apps with Expo and can publish to TestFlight, the App Store and Google Play; say "mobile app" in your first prompt.
