Why builders look for Lovable alternatives

Lovable meters building in credits. Lovable's own examples: "Make the button gray" costs 0.50 credits, adding sign-up and login 1.20, and a landing page with generated images 1.70, while Plan mode costs 1 credit per message. On Free, the 5 daily build credits are capped at 30 a month (Lovable's example: 5 a day for the first 6 days, then none until the 1st), and Free can't edit or download code or use a custom domain. Bigger apps or longer sessions mean a higher credit tier. Other reasons people switch: they want a Next.js app on Vercel, a native mobile app, more control over the backend, or a real code editor once the project gets serious.

The alternatives, ranked

  1. 01

    Bolt.new

Closest like-for-like swap: Bolt.new (from StackBlitz) turns a prompt into a working web or mobile app, with Plan Mode before it writes code. Bolt Cloud is built in: hosting, domains, a database, sign-in, file storage and payments. You can connect Supabase instead, or claim the database into your own Supabase account, and sync code to GitHub. Mobile apps use Expo and can go to TestFlight, the App Store and Google Play. It meters tokens rather than credits. Free is $0 with 300K tokens a day and 1M a month, website hosting and Bolt branding. Pro is $25/mo with no daily limit, from 10M tokens a month, rollover for one extra month, custom domains and no branding. Teams is $30 per member/mo. Yearly billing saves up to 28%. Bolt notes that larger projects use more tokens per message.

๐Ÿ’ณ Free tier; Pro ~$25/mo; Teams ~$30/member/mo (approx.)
  2. 02

    Replit Agent

Best when you need a real backend or more than a web app: Replit Agent builds web and mobile apps in Replit's cloud workspace, with databases, publishing and connectors in one place. The free Starter plan gives daily Agent credits up to a monthly cap, Free Mode and Lite build, and 1 published app that goes down after 30 days and carries a "Made with Replit" badge. Core is $20/mo ($18/mo billed annually) with $20 of credits toward more powerful models, and it unlocks Full build, Plan Mode, third-party connectors, unlimited published apps and up to 5 builders. Pro is $100/mo ($90/mo annually) with $100 of credits and higher tiers up to $2,000/mo, plus 10 parallel agents, up to 15 collaborators and 28-day database rollback.

๐Ÿ’ณ Free Starter plan; Core $20/mo; Pro $100/mo (approx.)
  3. 03

    v0

Best for Next.js front ends and teams already on Vercel: v0 builds apps with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui. It deploys to Vercel, syncs with GitHub, has a visual Design Mode, and adds one-click databases (Neon, Supabase, Upstash, Vercel Blob) through the Vercel Marketplace. Free is $0 with $5 in one-time credits for new users and a 7-message daily limit. Plus is $30/user/mo with $30 of monthly credits plus $2 of free daily credits on login, and access to all models. Business is $100/user/mo and adds training opt-out by default. Usage is billed per token by model, from v0 Mini ($0.20 input / $1.20 output per million tokens) to v0 Max ($5 / $25). Unused monthly credits roll over for one month.

    ๐Ÿ’ณ Free (7 messages/day); Plus $30/user/mo; Business $100/user/mo (approx.)
  4. 04

    Base44

Best all-in-one for non-developers: Base44 builds the front end, back end, database, user auth and payments from plain-language prompts, and connects to tools like Gmail, Slack, Notion, HubSpot and Salesforce. Base44 says you own your code and data, and two-way GitHub sync (Builder plan and up) exports the full source. Free is $0 with 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month and up to 5 apps. Paid plans, billed annually: Starter $16/mo (100 message credits), Builder $40/mo (250), Pro $80/mo (500) and Elite $160/mo (1,200). Annual billing saves 20%.

๐Ÿ’ณ Free plan; paid from ~$16/mo (Starter, billed annually) up to Elite ~$160/mo (approx.)
  5. 05

    Cursor

Best when you outgrow builders and want an editor: Lovable's Git sync works on every plan, Free included, so you can open the repo in Cursor and keep going with an AI editor. Cursor has a Free plan ($0) with limited agent and chat requests on Cursor's own models. Plus is $8/mo but only includes Grok models. Premium ($30/mo) adds cloud agents, AI code reviews, code hosting and third-party models such as Claude and GPT, billed separately at API list price. Super is $100/mo and Ultra $200/mo, with more usage.

๐Ÿ’ณ Free tier; paid plans from $8/mo (Plus) up to $200/mo (Ultra); Teams from $30/user/mo (approx.)
  6. 06

    Claude Code

Best when you outgrow builders and want an agent to do the work: Claude Code reads your codebase, edits files and runs commands from the terminal, VS Code and JetBrains extensions, a desktop app and the web. Point it at your exported Lovable repo and give it the bigger, multi-file changes. It isn't on Claude's Free plan. Pro is $20/mo ($17/mo billed annually, $200 up front) and Max starts at $100/mo. Claude Code shares one usage pool with your Claude chats, or you can pay per token with a Console (API) account.

๐Ÿ’ณ Included with Claude Pro ($20/mo US), Max (from $100/mo) and every Team seat (from $20/seat/mo billed annually), or pay via API usage (approx.)

How to choose

Want the same prompt-to-app flow with a built-in backend? Bolt.new (Pro $25/mo, same as Lovable Pro). Need a mobile app? Bolt with Expo, or Replit, which builds web and mobile apps even on Starter. Building on Next.js and Vercel? v0 (Plus $30/user/mo). Not technical and want everything in one place, including payments? Base44 (Starter $16/mo billed annually). Already have a Lovable app that's getting complex? Sync it to GitHub and continue in Cursor or with Claude Code. Free to try: every builder on this list has a $0 plan, and Google AI Studio is free to start.

Taking your project with you

Lovable says you own the code and the apps you build. Git sync to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket is on every plan, including Free, and it's two-way, so the repo stays current while you try another tool. Downloading or editing code inside Lovable needs Pro or higher. If your app uses Lovable Cloud (its built-in database, auth, storage and edge functions), the Cloud advanced settings include a data export. Lovable can also connect to your own Supabase project, which makes the back end easier to move later. The move works the other way too: Lovable documents importing projects from Replit, Bolt, v0 and Base44.

What happened to Firebase Studio?

Google is shutting it down. New sign-ups and new workspaces have been disabled since June 22, 2026, and Firebase Studio shuts down on March 22, 2027, when remaining data is permanently deleted. Google points prompt-to-app builders to Google AI Studio and code-first developers to Google Antigravity. Firestore, Firebase Authentication and App Hosting keep working.

Also considered

Google AI Studio's Build mode is the most interesting free option: it creates a full-stack app (React front end, Node.js server) or a native Android app (Kotlin and Jetpack Compose) from a prompt, can set up Firestore and Firebase Authentication for you, syncs two ways with GitHub, and deploys to Cloud Run. New users can deploy up to two full-stack apps on the Google Cloud Starter Tier with no billing account; after that, Cloud Run pricing may apply. Framer is the better pick if what you're really building is a marketing site: Free $0 (500 AI credits to try, Framer domain), Basic $10/mo and Pro $30/mo with yearly billing. Google Antigravity (free for individuals with basic weekly rate limits) is a strong next step for people who want to code with agents.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Lovable?

Bolt.new is the closest like-for-like: the same prompt-to-app flow with built-in hosting, database and sign-in, and Pro is also $25/mo. Pick Replit if you need more backend control or a mobile app, v0 for Next.js on Vercel, and Base44 if you want everything, including payments, without touching code.

Is there a free alternative to Lovable?

Yes. Bolt Free (300K tokens a day, 1M a month), Replit Starter (daily Agent credits, 1 published app for 30 days), v0 Free ($5 in one-time credits for new users, 7 messages a day) and Base44 Free (25 message credits a month, up to 5 apps) all cost $0. Google AI Studio's Build mode is free to start, and new users can deploy up to two full-stack apps without a billing account.

Is Lovable cheaper than Bolt?

At the entry level they cost the same: Lovable Pro and Bolt Pro are both $25/mo. Lovable gives 100 credits a month plus 5 daily build credits, while Bolt gives from 10M tokens a month with no daily limit. For teams, Lovable charges per workspace, not per seat, with unlimited members sharing credits; Bolt Teams is $30 per member/mo.

Can I move my Lovable project to Cursor or Claude Code?

Yes. Turn on Git sync (GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket, available on every Lovable plan including Free), then clone the repo and open it in Cursor, or run Claude Code in that folder. If the app uses Lovable Cloud for its database and auth, plan the back end move separately; the Cloud settings include a data export.

Is Firebase Studio still a Lovable alternative?

No. Firebase Studio stopped accepting new users and workspaces on June 22, 2026, and shuts down on March 22, 2027. Google recommends Google AI Studio for prompt-to-app building and Google Antigravity for code-first work.

Which Lovable alternative is best for mobile apps?

Bolt.new builds iOS and Android apps with Expo and can publish to TestFlight, the App Store and Google Play; say "mobile app" in your first prompt. Replit builds web and mobile apps, even on the free Starter plan. Google AI Studio can generate a native Android app in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
