v0 vs Replit: which should builders use?
Both turn a prompt into a working, deployed app. v0, made by Vercel, writes a Next.js codebase, previews it in a Vercel Sandbox, ships through GitHub pull requests and deploys to Vercel, with per-user plans and credits billed at per-model token rates. Replit runs Agent inside a full cloud workspace with managed PostgreSQL, native iOS and Android apps and its own hosting, and bills paid AI work, publishing and databases from one pool of credits, with a Free Mode for no-cost Agent work up to your plan's allowance. Every price below was checked on v0.app and replit.com on Oct 21, 2026.
| Replit Agent | ||
|---|---|---|
| Made by | Vercel | Replit, Inc. |
| What you build | Web apps, from components and landing pages to full-stack apps; defaults to Next.js (other frameworks work, but Next.js gives the most reliable results) | Web and mobile apps on every plan; Core and Pro add other artifact types such as data visualizations, slide decks and animated videos |
| Back end | Next.js server code and API routes; one-click databases from Supabase, Neon, Upstash or Vercel Blob, plus Snowflake for data apps | Fully managed PostgreSQL database and App Storage for files; sign-in through Replit's Clerk integration (Agent sets it up, no keys to paste) or Replit Auth |
| Mobile apps | Mobile-responsive web apps; the v0 iOS app lets you prompt and iterate from your phone | Native iOS and Android apps built with Agent; Replit's Launch feature builds, signs and uploads iOS apps to App Store Connect |
| Free plan | $0: 7 messages a day, $5 in one-time credits for new users, deploy to Vercel, Design Mode and GitHub sync; no credit purchases | Starter, $0: daily Agent credits up to a monthly cap, Free Mode with a daily cap, Lite build only, 1 published app that goes down after 30 days, Made with Replit badge |
| Cheapest paid plan | Plus: $30/user/mo (shown next to a struck-through $90) with $30 of monthly credits plus $2 of free daily login credits per user; v0's pricing page lists monthly prices only | Core: $18/mo billed annually, $20 monthly, with $20 a month toward more powerful models, up to 30 hours of chat and 60 projects on Free Mode |
| Higher tiers | Business $100/user/mo (same credits, training opt-out by default); Enterprise custom. Premium ($20/mo) is closed to new users | Pro $90/mo billed annually ($100 monthly) for $100 of credits, with larger tiers up to $2,000/mo billed annually ($2,050 monthly) for $2,500 of credits; Enterprise custom |
| How work is billed | Credits at per-model token rates per 1M input/output tokens: v0 Mini $0.20/$1.20, v0 Pro $2/$10, v0 Max $5/$25, v0 Max Fast $10/$50. ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers can cover eligible OpenAI-model responses with their ChatGPT plan, plus a small v0 platform fee | Free Mode costs nothing up to your plan's allowance (Core and Pro: refreshes every five hours); Power and Max modes use effort-based pricing, one checkpoint per request, paid from your credits |
| What credits also pay for | AI generations only; hosting runs on your Vercel account | The same credits pay for publishing, databases, storage and network transfer |
| Unused credits | Monthly credits roll over to the next billing cycle and expire after 65 days | Pro: unused credits roll over for two months. Replit's publishing-costs doc says unused monthly credits don't roll over to the next month |
| Extra credits | Buy more any time on Plus and Business; they go into a team-wide Shared Credit Pool, need an active paid plan to use and expire one year after purchase | Credit packs on Core and Pro: $100, $300 for $290, $500 for $480, $1,000 for $950; expire six months after purchase |
| Hosting | Deploys to Vercel with preview deployments per branch and a stable production URL. Vercel's free Hobby plan is for non-commercial, personal use only | Paid from credits: Autoscale $2/mo base + $0.60 per million compute units + $0.40 per million requests; Reserved VM from $15/mo; Static hosting free plus $0.05/GB transfer |
| Custom domain | Free vercel.app addresses, or add your own domain through the connected Vercel project | Connect your own domain or buy one inside Replit; removing the Made with Replit badge needs Core |
| Your code | Vercel doesn't own the generated code. GitHub sync creates a private repository, commits each chat's changes to a working branch and publishes through pull requests (never pushing straight to main); a VS Code-style editor is built in | Built-in Git with GitHub sync in the workspace; import an existing GitHub repo, ZIP or a project from another builder |
| Team | Team features, shared projects and a shared credit pool on Plus, Business and Enterprise (priced per user); Free has none | Starter: no collaboration seats. Core: up to 5 builders. Pro: up to 15 builders and 50 viewers with pooled credits. Enterprise: unlimited seats |
| SSO | Enterprise (SAML SSO and role-based access control) | Enterprise (SSO/SAML with SCIM provisioning) |
| AI training on your data | v0 may use prompts and content to improve its products. Business is opted out by default and Enterprise content is never used; v0's FAQ says content of anyone who opted out in their Vercel settings isn't used either | Content is used to improve Replit's models; Pro can opt out in Settings, and Enterprise content isn't used for training |
| Switching | Imports an existing GitHub repository, Vercel project or ZIP file | Replit's import page has a Vercel option: it imports the GitHub repository behind your Vercel project (not environment variable values, custom domains or Vercel-specific edge and middleware behavior) |
| Pricing (approx.) | Free (7 messages/day; $5 one-time credits for new users); Plus $30/user/mo; Business $100/user/mo | Free Starter plan (daily Agent credits, 1 published app for 30 days); Core $20/mo; Pro from $100/mo |

How the pricing compares
Replit is cheaper to start. Core is $20/mo, or $18/mo billed annually, and v0 Plus is $30 per user a month, with no annual price on v0's pricing page. Core's $20 of monthly credits pay for Power and Max modes plus publishing, databases and storage, while Free Mode (up to 30 hours of chat, refreshing every five hours) covers everyday Agent work at no extra cost. Plus's $30 of credits, plus $2 of free daily login credits, go only to AI generations, billed at per-model token rates from v0 Mini ($0.20/$1.20 per 1M input/output tokens) to v0 Max Fast ($10/$50), and hosting runs on your Vercel account instead. Vercel's free Hobby plan is non-commercial, and v0's teams doc says that if you already have a Vercel Hobby team, a new team for v0 Plus also needs Vercel Pro at an extra $20/mo that adds no v0 capabilities. At the top, v0 Business is $100 per user a month and Replit Pro is $100/mo ($90 billed annually) for up to 15 builders. v0's monthly credits roll over for 65 days; Replit Pro credits roll over for two months.
Which free plan goes further?
For building, v0 Free is more predictable: 7 messages a day plus $5 in one-time credits for new users, and it already includes deploying to Vercel, Design Mode and GitHub sync, though you can't buy more credits on Free. Replit Starter gives daily Agent credits up to a monthly cap and Free Mode with a daily cap (Replit doesn't publish the exact numbers), but only Lite build (no Full build, Plan Mode or connectors) and one published app that goes down after 30 days with the Made with Replit badge. To keep a small app online for free, v0 deploys to a free vercel.app address on Vercel, whose free Hobby plan is for personal, non-commercial projects; Replit's free published app goes down after 30 days.
Moving between them
Both lean on GitHub. A v0 project connected to GitHub lives in a private repository that becomes the source of truth for its code. To move it to Replit, open replit.com/import, choose Vercel and pick the repository behind your Vercel project; Replit brings over the project files, dependency and framework configuration and run and build defaults, but you add environment variable values and custom domains again, and Vercel-specific edge or middleware behavior doesn't carry over. Going the other way, push your Replit App to GitHub with the Git tool (Tools > Git), then use Import from GitHub in v0 (it can also take a ZIP file). Expect v0 to work best with Next.js code, since that's its default stack.
Pick v0 if…
You want a Next.js codebase on Vercel, shipped through GitHub branches, preview deployments and pull requests, with visual edits in Design Mode, a built-in code editor, per-model pricing you can pick per chat, the option to use your ChatGPT Plus or Pro plan, and team features with a shared credit pool.

Pick Replit Agent if…
You want the lower entry price ($18/mo billed annually), one bill for building and hosting, managed PostgreSQL, native iOS and Android apps you can upload to App Store Connect, a Free Mode for no-cost Agent work on paid plans, credit rollover on Pro, or a training opt-out on Pro.
Our verdict
For most solo builders Replit is the better value: Core costs $20/mo ($18 billed annually) against v0 Plus at $30 per user, and it adds PostgreSQL, native mobile apps and hosting in one place, though one credit pool pays for both AI and hosting. v0 is the better pick when the app should be a production-grade Next.js project on Vercel that your team reviews through GitHub pull requests. If you start in v0 and outgrow it, Replit can import the GitHub repository behind your Vercel project.
