Is v0 free? Free vs Plus vs Business in 2026

Yes, with a small allowance. v0, Vercel's AI builder for Next.js, React, Tailwind and shadcn/ui apps, has a Free plan that costs $0. It lets you build, edit visually with Design Mode, sync with GitHub and deploy to Vercel, with a 7-message daily limit. New users get $5 of credits once, and that allowance doesn't renew. Access to all models, monthly credits, buying more credits and team sharing start with Plus at $30 per user a month. Below: every plan and what it costs, what the free credits buy at v0's model prices, what happens when credits run out, whether you can use a ChatGPT subscription, whether your prompts are used for training, how v0 and Vercel hosting are billed, and the free app builders to try instead, all checked on v0's pricing page, v0's docs and Vercel's terms on Oct 20, 2026.

Short answer: Yes, with a small allowance. v0's Free plan is $0 and includes deploys to Vercel, visual editing in Design Mode, GitHub sync and a 7-message daily limit. New users get $5 of one-time credits that don't renew (Free users who signed up earlier keep a $5 monthly allowance). Free users can't buy more credits. Plus is $30/user/mo with access to all models, $30 of monthly credits per user and $2 of free daily credits on login. Business is $100/user/mo with the same credits plus training opt-out by default. Enterprise is custom. v0 is billed separately from any Vercel hosting plan.

Free$07 messages a day. New users get $5 of one-time credits that don't renew; existing Free users keep their $5 monthly allowance. Free users can't buy extra credits.Deploy apps to Vercel, visual editing with Design Mode, GitHub sync, basic usage analytics. No team features, shared projects or shared credit pool.
Plus$30/user/mo (the pricing page shows it next to a struck-through $90)$30 of monthly credits per user plus $2 of free daily credits on login. Buy more credits any time, shared across the team.Everything in Free, plus access to all models, shared chats and projects, team collaboration, basic access controls, team-wide usage analytics and centralized billing on vercel.com.
Business$100/user/mo$30 of monthly credits per user plus $2 of free daily credits on login, same as Plus. Extra credits shared across the team.Everything in Plus, with training opt-out by default.
EnterpriseCustomCustom credits; extra credit purchases go through your account executive.Everything in Business, plus SAML SSO, role-based access control, priority access with no queues, guaranteed support SLAs. Vercel says Enterprise data is never used for training.
Premium (closed)$20/mo$20 of monthly credits.Being sunset and no longer available to new users. Former Ultra users were moved to Premium with an extra $200 credit.

Prices in USD, excluding VAT, GST and other taxes. v0's docs say unused monthly credits roll over to the next billing cycle and expire after 65 days; purchased credits expire one year after purchase and need an active paid plan to use. v0 doesn't publish which models the Free plan can use; the pricing page lists "Access to all models" from Plus up.

What v0's Free plan includes

v0's Free plan is meant, in Vercel's words, for people looking to explore. You can start from a prompt, a screenshot or a Figma design, edit visually in Design Mode, connect a GitHub repository and publish to Vercel on a free vercel.app domain. The limit is 7 messages a day. On top of that, new users who sign up under the current offer get $5 of credits once per personal or team account; it doesn't renew, and Free users who signed up before the change keep their $5 monthly allowance (your billing settings show which one you have). Free has no team features: no shared projects, no shared credit pool and no centralized billing. To buy more usage, Vercel says Free users have to upgrade to a paid plan.

What $5 of v0 credits buys

v0 bills generations by tokens, at a rate that depends on the model. Per million tokens, v0 Mini costs $0.20 input and $1.20 output, v0 Pro $2 and $10, v0 Max $5 and $25, and v0 Max Fast (2.5x faster output) $10 and $50; cache reads cost a tenth of the input price. So $5 covers about 25 million input tokens on v0 Mini but only about 1 million on v0 Max. Short prompts don't mean small bills: v0 counts your chat history, source files and Vercel-specific context as input on every message, so larger projects use more tokens per request. When your credits run out, generation pauses.

Using a ChatGPT subscription in v0

ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers can connect their ChatGPT account so that eligible responses from GPT-6 Astra, GPT-5.6 Sol and GPT-5.6 Luna count against their ChatGPT plan instead of v0 credits. It doesn't replace v0 credits: every request still carries a small platform fee in v0 credits, and image generation and editing, delegated subagents and other supporting agent work always use v0 credits, so you need a v0 credit balance. Fast mode isn't available on the ChatGPT plan. If you hit your ChatGPT usage limit, v0 pauses and saves your progress rather than switching to v0 credits on its own.

Credits on paid plans: rollover, top-ups and expiry

Plus and Business include $30 of monthly credits per user, plus $2 of free daily credits each day you log in. Monthly credits are spent first and stay individual per user; after that, v0 draws on credits you've bought, which on Plus, Business and Enterprise sit in a Shared Credit Pool for the whole team. Unused monthly credits roll over to the next billing cycle and expire after 65 days. Purchased credits expire one year after purchase, stay in your balance if your subscription ends, but need an active paid plan to use. Paid plans also get a daily allowance of free Fix with v0 uses on unedited code when a deployment fails; after that, fixes cost credits like a normal prompt.

Is your v0 work used for training?

It can be. v0's FAQ says v0 may use your prompts and generated content as inputs to models and learning systems, including from third-party providers, to improve its products, and that content from Enterprise customers or anyone who has opted out of model training in their Vercel settings isn't used. Under Vercel's terms, Hobby (free) and trial Pro accounts are opted in to model training by default and can opt out in Team Settings, Data Preferences, while paid Vercel Pro accounts are opted out by default. On v0's own plans, Business has training opt-out by default and Enterprise data is never used for training. v0's plan table lists data opt-out only for Business and Enterprise, so check your Vercel team's data preferences if you're on Free or Plus.

Hosting: v0 and Vercel are billed separately

v0 uses your Vercel account to sign in, but it isn't included in Vercel's Hobby, Pro or Enterprise subscriptions. Vercel's own example: a one-member Vercel Pro team ($20) plus a v0 Premium plan ($20) costs $40 a month. Apps you publish from v0 deploy to Vercel. Vercel's Hobby hosting plan is $0, but its terms limit it to personal or non-commercial use, and Vercel can change Hobby limits or remove Hobby projects at its discretion. Commercial apps need Vercel Pro ($20/mo with $20 of included usage) or Enterprise. Vercel's terms also require you to be at least 16.

💳 Free plan; paid from ~$16/mo (Starter, billed annually) up to Elite ~$160/mo (approx.)

v0 for teams: Plus or Business

Plus and Business include exactly the same credits: $30 of monthly credits per user, $2 of daily login credits and a shared pool for credits you buy. The $70-per-user difference buys training opt-out by default (and Vercel's plan table lists data opt-out only from Business up). For a 5-person team that's $150 a month on Plus versus $500 on Business. Both get shared projects, team-wide usage analytics and centralized billing on vercel.com; SAML SSO, role-based access control and priority access are Enterprise only. Remember that hosting on Vercel is a separate bill: commercial apps need a Vercel Pro or Enterprise plan on top of v0.

Refunds, discounts and cancelling

Vercel says it generally doesn't offer v0 refunds, because each model call costs money, and doesn't offer discounts or purchasing power parity pricing. It doesn't accept PayPal; receipts arrive by email and invoices are on vercel.com/account/billing. If you cancel, your account moves to the Free plan at the end of the billing period. The one discount-like program is v0 for Students: verified students at a list of active schools (15 listed, including Stanford, Harvard, MIT and UC Berkeley) get $20 of credits a month free for 1 year.

Is v0 included in my Vercel plan?

No. v0 uses your Vercel login but is billed separately from Vercel Hobby, Pro and Enterprise. Vercel's example: Vercel Pro ($20) plus v0 Premium ($20) is $40 a month. Vercel's free Hobby hosting is for personal or non-commercial use only.

What happens when I run out of v0 credits?

Generation pauses. On Premium, Plus and Business you can buy more credits any time; purchased credits expire one year after purchase and need an active paid plan to use. Free users have to upgrade to a paid plan to keep going.

Does v0 use my prompts and code for training?

It can: v0's FAQ says prompts and generated content may be used to improve its products, except for Enterprise customers and anyone who has opted out in their Vercel settings. Vercel's free Hobby accounts are opted in by default and can opt out in Team Settings; v0 Business has training opt-out by default.

What's the best free alternative to v0?

Bolt.new Free (300K tokens a day, up to 1M a month) has the biggest free allowance. Lovable Free (5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month) renews daily, unlike v0's one-time $5. Replit Starter adds daily Agent credits and 1 published app for 30 days, and Base44 Free (25 message credits a month) is the simplest all-in-one.
