Is Bolt.new free? Free vs Pro vs Teams in 2026
Yes, Bolt.new has a real free plan, metered in tokens: 300K a day and 1M a month on Bolt's Standard agent, with free hosting on a bolt.host address. What Free doesn't include: custom domains, private published sites, the Max agent, Supabase, or removing the Made in Bolt badge. Below: every plan and what it costs, how the token limits work, what happened to the $9 Lite plan, Bolt's new AI training default, and the free app builders to try instead, all checked on Bolt's own pricing page, help center and terms on Oct 19, 2026.

Prices in USD, plus applicable taxes. The pricing page says yearly billing saves up to 28% (Pro is $216 a year instead of $300); Bolt's billing help still says annual plans save 10%. Higher Pro tiers cost more: Bolt's billing help uses $50/mo for 26M tokens and $100/mo for 55M as examples. Token reloads, which don't expire, are only for the top monthly Pro tier and annual Pro plans. Bolt subscriptions aren't refundable. From Nov 1, 2026, Link (by Stripe) bills Bolt subscriptions and adds sales tax or VAT where it's required.
What Bolt Free includes, and its limits
Free gives you 300K tokens a day and 1M tokens a month. The daily allowance refreshes every day and the monthly one on the 1st, and unused tokens don't carry over. Bolt says most token use comes from syncing your project's files to the AI, so the larger the project, the more tokens each message costs. If you hit the daily limit, you can still edit your code by hand in Code view, which uses no tokens. Free only includes the Standard agent; the Max agent needs a paid plan. Publishing to a bolt.host address is free and doesn't use tokens. Free hosting covers up to 10 GB of bandwidth and 333,333 requests a month across all your sites, which Bolt puts at roughly 10,000 to 15,000 monthly visits. Go over and your sites stay offline until the next month; on Free there's no way to buy more. You own the code Bolt writes, including for commercial use, and you can download a project as a zip or connect it to GitHub.
Are free Bolt projects public?
Not necessarily. Bolt's pricing page lists public and private projects on every plan, Free included, and you can share a project with viewers or editors on any plan (collaborators who edit use their own tokens). Published sites are a separate setting: on Free, every published site is public and search engines can find it. Private sites, which only you and invited people can open, need a paid plan, and a site on a custom domain can only be published publicly.
What happened to the $9 Lite plan?
Bolt launched Lite on Sep 14, 2026 as a $9/mo plan that only uses Bolt Forge, a new agent that runs open-source models such as GLM 5.3 and Kimi K3. Sign-ups are now closed. Bolt's Lite page says "Sign-ups close Oct 14th" and that Oct 14 is "the last day to get on Lite, not the day it ends." Bolt's Sep 14 blog post says anyone on Lite when sign-ups closed on Oct 14, 2026 keeps the plan at $9 a month, and the Forge article in Bolt's help center says the same. As of Oct 19, the pricing page lists only Free, Pro, Teams and Enterprise. But the Lite page still shows its "Get access now" button, and the top of the help article still describes a Lite waitlist. Bolt hasn't said Lite is discontinued: current members keep it, but new users shouldn't count on getting it. You also can't downgrade from Pro to Lite. For Pro users, the help center says Forge access and its extra usage ended Oct 14, while Bolt's blog says Forge continues as an experimental agent.
Is your data used for AI training?
Yes, by default, unless you opt out or are based in the EU, UK or Switzerland. Bolt's new Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (published Sep 14, 2026, effective for existing accounts Oct 7, 2026) let StackBlitz, the company behind Bolt, use content you create on or after Oct 7, 2026 to train AI models. They also let it license de-identified datasets of that content to other AI developers, including for payment. The Model training setting in your account settings is on by default, except for accounts in the EU, UK and Switzerland. Turning it off is free on any plan, and so is emailing [email protected]. Opting out stops new use, but it doesn't undo models already trained. Teams and Enterprise workspaces are excluded. Bolt Forge has its own terms: you have to agree to share de-identified Forge sessions for training before you can use it.
Pro pricing, yearly billing and extra tokens
Pro starts at $25/mo for 10M tokens a month, or $18/mo billed yearly ($216 instead of $300). Teams is $30 per member, or $27 billed yearly ($324 instead of $360), and each member gets their own tokens. Higher Pro tiers add tokens: Bolt's billing help uses $50/mo for 26M and $100/mo for 55M as examples. On paid plans, unused monthly tokens roll over and stay valid for two months from the start of the cycle they came in, as long as you keep paying. If you cancel, your plan runs to the end of the billing period, then you lose all remaining tokens and drop to Free. Token reloads, which never expire, are only for the top monthly Pro tier and annual Pro plans. An annual plan can't be downgraded until its renewal date, and Bolt doesn't give refunds. From Nov 1, 2026, Link (a Stripe service) handles Bolt billing and adds sales tax or VAT where it's required. You can opt out until Oct 28 with the link in Bolt's email.

Projects are private to your workspace, and Git sync to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket works on Free. Also free: Google AI Studio Build mode
Google AI Studio's Build mode turns a prompt into a full-stack web app (a React front end with a Node.js server) or a native Android app in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. It can set up a Firestore database and Firebase Authentication for you and import existing code from GitHub. It's free to start, and eligible accounts can deploy up to 2 full-stack apps through Google Cloud's Starter Tier without a billing account. Google Workspace accounts and accounts with a current or past paid Google Cloud billing account aren't eligible and need billing turned on. Skip Firebase Studio, Google's other app builder: it shuts down on Mar 22, 2027.
