Is Google Antigravity free? Free vs Google AI Pro vs Ultra in 2026
Yes, for individuals. Google Antigravity, Google's agent-first coding platform (a desktop app, the Antigravity IDE, editor extensions and Antigravity CLI), has an Individual plan that costs $0 with no subscription. You get unlimited Tab completions and a weekly agent quota. Paying for a Google AI plan buys bigger quotas that refresh every five hours, Gemini 4 Argon, Claude Sonnet and Opus 5.5, and the option to keep going on AI credits. Below: every plan and what it costs, how the rate limits work, which models are free (and which ones leave on Nov 2, 2026), credits, the rules on the free plan, and the free coding agents to try instead, all checked on Google's own pricing pages, docs and Google One on Oct 20, 2026.

Short answer: Yes, for individuals. Antigravity's Individual plan is $0/month and includes a variety of agent models, unlimited Tab completions, unlimited command requests and basic weekly rate limits, in the Antigravity app, IDE, editor extensions and CLI. Google AI Plus ($4.99/mo) gets the same Antigravity tier as Free. Google AI Pro ($19.99/mo in the US) is the first plan with more: a quota that refreshes every five hours up to a higher weekly limit, Gemini 4 Argon and Claude Sonnet and Opus 5.5 (paid subscriptions, not trials), and AI credits for overage. Google AI Ultra is $99.99/mo (5x) or $199.99/mo (20x) with the highest limits. Teams buy it through Google Cloud: Gemini Enterprise Standard or Plus from $30 per seat per month, or pay as you go with no seat fee.
Google Antigravity plans (checked Oct 20, 2026)
| Plan | Price | Antigravity quota | Models and extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual (Free) | $0 | A quota that refreshes weekly, with a weekly rate limit ("basic weekly rate limits" on the pricing page). Unlimited Tab completions and command requests. | Gemini 3.8 Flash. Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Opus 4.6 and GPT-OSS-120b until Google removes them on Nov 2, 2026. Every product feature, including scheduled tasks and the CLI. Google's docs list AI credit overages only for Pro and Ultra. |
| Google AI Plus | $4.99/mo | Same as Free: Google's docs give the weekly quota to everyone not on Pro or Ultra, and Google One lists Antigravity agent requests as "Limited". | The same models as Free (Google's model table has one "Free & Google AI Plus" column). Plus's extras are in the Gemini app, storage and other Google apps. |
| Google AI Pro | $19.99/mo | A high quota that refreshes every five hours until you reach a higher weekly limit. Google One: "Expanded" agent requests. | Gemini 4 Argon, Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Claude Opus 5.5 on paid subscriptions (not free trials), plus the Free models. Buy AI credits to keep working past the quota. |
| Google AI Ultra (5x) | $99.99/mo | The highest quota, refreshed every five hours, and the highest weekly limits. Google One: "Higher" agent requests. | Gemini 4 Argon, Gemini 3.8 Flash, Claude Sonnet and Opus 5.5, GPT-OSS-120b (until Nov 2, 2026). AI credits for overage. |
| Google AI Ultra (20x) | $199.99/mo | Google One: "Highest" agent requests, the top consumer tier. | Same models as Ultra 5x. In the Gemini app, Google sells it as 20x the usage limits of Pro. |
| Business (Google Cloud) | Gemini Enterprise Standard or Plus from $30/seat/mo; pay-as-you-go with a $0 seat fee; or API usage | Seat licenses include pooled credits for Google's own Gemini models ($10/month per Standard seat, $15/month per Plus seat), with managed overages. | Gemini 4 Argon, Gemini 3.8, 3.7 and 3.6 Flash and Gemini 3.1 Pro. Claude Sonnet and Opus 5.5 need an admin to opt in and bill by token. Works in the Antigravity app, CLI and IDE extensions, not the standalone Antigravity IDE. Google Cloud terms, spend caps and admin controls. |
Prices in USD for the US, from Google One's plan page; Antigravity's own pricing page lists the $0 Individual plan and the Gemini Enterprise prices, but not the Google AI plan prices. Google doesn't publish request counts: the limits track how much work the agent does, depend on capacity and can change. Google's Plans page lists "access to third-party models" as an Ultra benefit, but its model table also shows Claude Sonnet and Opus 5.5 on paid Google AI Pro; we follow the model table. Gemini 4 Argon works in the Antigravity app, CLI and IDE extensions, not in the Antigravity IDE.
What Antigravity's free plan gets you
Antigravity's pricing page calls the Individual plan "$0/month" and "Experience Antigravity without a subscription plan". It includes access to a variety of agent models, unlimited Tab completions, unlimited command requests and basic weekly rate limits. Google's Plans docs add that every plan gets Gemini models, including Gemini 3.8 Flash, as the core agent model, and access to all product features, such as scheduled tasks and the CLI. That covers the Antigravity desktop app (macOS 12 or later, Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, and Linux), the standalone Antigravity IDE, the editor extensions for VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Zed and Xcode, and Antigravity CLI (agy). You sign in with a personal Google Account. Google's FAQ says Antigravity is for personal accounts in approved countries, suggests an @gmail.com address if a Google Workspace account doesn't work, and says it's unavailable to anyone under 18.
How the rate limits work
Free users (and Google AI Plus) get "a meaningful quota, refreshed weekly" plus a weekly rate limit. Google AI Pro gets "a high, generous quota, refreshed every five hours until the weekly limit is reached" and a higher weekly limit. Ultra gets the highest quota, refreshed every five hours, and the highest weekly limits. Google doesn't publish numbers. Its docs say the limits track how much work the agent does, so simple tasks that finish quickly get you more prompts than complex ones, that they're mainly set by available capacity and to prevent abuse, and that they can change. You can see what you've used per model on the Settings page in the app, or with /usage (alias /quota) in the CLI. There's no bring-your-own-key option to raise the limits.
Which models are free, and what changes on Nov 2, 2026
Google's model table has a single "Free & Google AI Plus" column. Today it shows Gemini 3.8 Flash, Claude Sonnet 4.6 (thinking), Claude Opus 4.6 (thinking) and GPT-OSS-120b. The two Claude 4.6 models and GPT-OSS-120b are marked "Will be removed on November 2, 2026", which leaves Gemini 3.8 Flash as the only model in that column with no removal date. Gemini 4 Argon, Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Claude Opus 5.5 need a paid Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription, and Google says they aren't included in free trials. Argon runs in the Antigravity app, CLI and IDE extensions, but not in the Antigravity IDE. Gemini 3.7 Flash, 3.6 Flash and 3.1 Pro are listed for Enterprise only. You can also choose a thinking level (Low, Medium or High) when you pick a model.
AI credits: paying past the limit
On Google AI Pro and Ultra you can keep working after you use up a model's quota by spending AI credits you buy through Google One, or one-time promotional credits. Google says they're consumed at standard Gemini Enterprise consumption pricing. The AI Credit Overages setting controls this: Never (wait for your quota to refresh) or Always (switch to credits, then back to the quota once it refreshes). In the CLI the setting is Use G1 Credits (useG1Credits in settings.json), and /credits shows your balance and links to buy more. Google's Plans docs only offer overage credits on Pro and Ultra, so on the free plan you wait for the weekly refresh.
The rules on the free plan
Antigravity's terms say Google records your interactions with the service and uses them to evaluate, develop and improve Google and Alphabet products and machine learning technologies, and that Google employees and contractors may review them. You can change that in Settings (the FAQ says you can opt out of data collection there at any time) and ask for your interactions to be deleted. Using your Antigravity sign-in with third-party software, such as Claude Code, OpenClaw or OpenCode, breaks the terms and can get your account suspended. Google points you to a Gemini Enterprise or Google AI Studio API key for that instead. Antigravity CLI's headless mode (agy -p) is meant for your own scripts and CI, not for wrapping inside other agents or rotating accounts.
Antigravity for teams: Gemini Enterprise
Organizations don't use the Google AI plans. Antigravity's pricing page offers it through Google Cloud: consumption-based API access, or, for eligible Gemini Enterprise customers, Standard and Plus plans from $30 per seat per month, or a pay-as-you-go plan with a $0 seat fee. Seat licenses need no separate Antigravity license and include pooled credits for Google's own Gemini models ($10 a month per Standard seat, $15 per Plus seat), with managed overages. Claude Sonnet and Opus 5.5 need an administrator to opt in and are billed by token. Enterprise sign-in works in the Antigravity app, CLI and IDE extensions, but not the standalone Antigravity IDE, and runs under Google Cloud terms with spend caps and admin controls.

Antigravity CLI replaced Gemini CLI for free users
Google announced on May 19, 2026 that it was folding Gemini CLI into Antigravity, and Antigravity CLI became available to everyone that day. On June 18, 2026, Gemini CLI and the Gemini Code Assist IDE extensions stopped serving Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and people using Gemini Code Assist for individuals free of charge. Gemini CLI still works with paid Gemini API keys and with Gemini Code Assist Standard or Enterprise licenses. Antigravity CLI is built in Go, imports Gemini CLI extensions as plugins (agy plugin import gemini) and still reads GEMINI.md and AGENTS.md. So if you used Gemini CLI for free, Antigravity CLI on the Individual plan is Google's free terminal agent now.
Antigravity vs the other free coding agents on price
Antigravity's free tier is unusual in one way: it includes a full agent, the CLI and unlimited Tab completions, and the paid step up is a Google AI plan that also covers the Gemini app, 5 TB of storage and other Google perks. For comparison, Codex on ChatGPT Free only runs GPT-6 Luna in the desktop app, Copilot Free caps completions at 2,000 a month, and Cursor Free is limited to Cursor's own models. At $19.99/mo, Google AI Pro sits next to ChatGPT Plus ($20) and Devin Desktop Pro ($20), above Copilot Pro ($10) and below Cursor Premium ($30).
Frequently asked questions
Is Google Antigravity free?
Yes, for individuals. The Individual plan is $0/month with a variety of agent models, unlimited Tab completions, unlimited command requests and basic weekly rate limits, in the Antigravity app, IDE, editor extensions and CLI. Higher limits come with Google AI Pro ($19.99/mo in the US) or Ultra ($99.99 or $199.99/mo).
What are Antigravity's free limits?
Google doesn't publish a number. Free users get a quota that refreshes weekly and a weekly rate limit; the limits track how much work the agent does, so complex tasks use more. Google AI Pro's quota refreshes every five hours until a higher weekly limit. Check /usage in the CLI or the Settings page in the app.
Can I use Claude or Gemini 4 Argon in Antigravity for free?
For now, partly. The free tier lists Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Claude Opus 4.6, but Google is removing them (and GPT-OSS-120b) on Nov 2, 2026, which leaves Gemini 3.8 Flash. Gemini 4 Argon and Claude Sonnet and Opus 5.5 need a paid Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription and aren't included in free trials.
How much does Antigravity cost?
The Individual plan is free. Paid limits come with a Google AI plan: Pro is $19.99/mo and Ultra is $99.99/mo (5x) or $199.99/mo (20x) in the US. Google AI Plus ($4.99/mo) gets the same Antigravity tier as Free. For teams, Gemini Enterprise Standard and Plus start at $30 per seat per month, or pay as you go with no seat fee.
What happens when I hit the Antigravity limit?
On Free you wait for the weekly refresh. On Google AI Pro and Ultra the quota refreshes every five hours (up to the weekly limit), and you can turn on AI Credit Overages to keep going on purchased AI credits, which are consumed at Gemini Enterprise consumption pricing.
Is Antigravity CLI free?
Yes. Every Antigravity plan includes the CLI (agy), on your plan's quota (check it with /usage). It replaced Gemini CLI for free users and Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers on June 18, 2026. Don't route your Antigravity sign-in through third-party agents, though: Google's terms ban it, and it suggests a Gemini Enterprise or Google AI Studio API key instead.
What's the best free alternative to Antigravity?
GitHub Copilot Free (2,000 completions a month plus limited agent use) if you live in VS Code or GitHub, Cursor Free or Devin Desktop Free for another AI editor, Codex on ChatGPT Free for quick tasks in the desktop app, or Cline and Zed if you'd rather bring your own API key and pay only for tokens.
