What a 10-person team pays

At list prices before tax: 10 Cursor Premium seats are $300/mo, and any Claude, GPT or Gemini usage in Cursor is billed on top at API list price plus $0.25 per million tokens. 10 Claude Team Standard seats are $250/mo billed monthly or $200/mo billed annually, and Claude Code usage is included up to each seat's limits. A mixed team works on both: 8 Cursor Premium + 2 Super seats is $440/mo, and 8 Claude Standard + 2 Premium seats is $450/mo monthly ($360/mo annual). Usage beyond the included limits costs extra on both.

How usage limits work for teams

Neither Team plan pools included usage. On Cursor Teams, each paid seat gets a weekly pool for Cursor's own models. Everything else, including third-party models from the first request, comes from one prepaid team balance that admins top up and cap with a monthly limit. On Claude Team, each member has a rolling 5-hour session limit plus a weekly limit, and Claude chat, Cowork and Claude Code all draw from that same pool. When members run out, Owners can turn on usage credits billed at API rates, under an org-wide spend limit. Pooled usage on Cursor and seat-plus-API-rate billing on Claude are both Enterprise options.

Can a team run both?

Yes. A Claude Team or Enterprise seat also covers the Claude Code extension in VS Code, Cursor and other VS Code forks, and in JetBrains IDEs, with the same limits and billing as the terminal. Some teams put everyone on Cursor seats for the editor, Tab and Bugbot, and add Claude Team seats for whoever runs long Claude Code sessions. That avoids paying API rates for Claude inside Cursor.

Pick Cursor if…

Your team wants one editor for everyone, with Tab, agents and Cursor's own models included in each seat. You also want Bugbot on GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or Azure DevOps, and analytics that show the AI share of committed code. Budget separately if your developers mostly want Claude models: on Teams those bill at API list price plus the Cursor Token Rate.

Pick Claude Code if…

Your team mostly wants Claude models, and you'd rather have Claude usage inside a flat seat ($20/seat/mo billed annually) than pay per token. It also suits teams that are terminal- or agent-first, want Claude chat and Cowork for non-engineers on the same plan, or review PRs on GitHub with Claude Code Review.

Our verdict

For teams that mainly want Claude, Claude Team is the cheaper and more predictable buy. Claude Code comes with every seat from $20/seat/mo (annual), Claude usage is included up to each seat's limits, and the extension also runs inside Cursor. Cursor Teams seats ($30+/user/mo) include only Cursor's own models and bill Claude at API rates, so pick Cursor when you want multi-model choice in one editor, Bugbot on any Git host and code-attribution analytics. On both, SCIM and audit logs are Enterprise-only, and Cursor also keeps pooled usage for Enterprise.
