The best AI code review tools for pull requests

AI pull-request reviewers ranked for builders shipping a lot of AI-written code: signal over noise, which Git hosts they support, and what a review really costs now that most of them bill by usage instead of a flat seat price.

    CodeRabbit

Best overall, and free if your repo is public: CodeRabbit reviews every PR with line-by-line comments, a summary and one-click fixes, and also reviews in VS Code, Cursor and Windsurf and from its CLI. It works on GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps and Bitbucket. Essentials is $24/dev/mo billed annually ($30 monthly), Team $48 ($60) and the new Advanced tier $72 ($90), and you are only charged for developers who open pull requests. Past the hourly review allowance, extra reviews cost $0.25 per reviewed file, under a monthly cap you set.

💳 Free for public repos; Essentials $24/dev/mo (annual) or $30 monthly; Team $48/$60; Advanced $72/$90 (approx.)

    Cursor Bugbot

Best if your team already lives in Cursor: Bugbot reviews each PR update (or on a “cursor review” comment), follows .cursor/BUGBOT.md and team rules, can learn rules from your PR history, and Autofix can hand a fix to a cloud agent. It works with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and Azure DevOps. Since Cursor’s May 2026 change it is usage-based instead of $40 per seat: individuals draw on their plan’s included usage (Premium at $30/mo and up; not Free or Plus), Teams pay from prepaid credit, and Cursor puts the average run at $1.00–$1.50.

💳 Usage-based; included with Cursor Premium ($30/mo) and up and Teams; Cursor says the average run costs $1.00-$1.50 (approx.)

    Greptile

Best for codebase-aware reviews with a free solo tier: Greptile checks each change against your whole codebase, posts findings as PR comments in about 3 minutes, and learns from your team’s reactions. Starter is free for one developer with 50 credits/mo; Pro is $30/seat/mo with 50 credits per seat and extra credits at $1. A Base review costs 1 credit, Plus 3 and Apex 10. It works with GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket; self-hosting and SSO are Enterprise. Free for qualified non-commercial open-source projects, and 50% off for pre-Series A startups.

💳 Free Starter (1 developer, 50 credits/mo); Pro $30/seat/mo with 50 credits per seat, extra credits $1; Enterprise custom (approx.)
  4. 04

    Claude Code Review

Best for Claude Team or Enterprise orgs on GitHub: several agents review each PR, a verification step filters out false positives, and findings land as severity-ranked inline comments plus a check run that never blocks the merge. Tune it with REVIEW.md and pick Quick, Standard or Deep per repo. There is no flat per-review price: reviews bill on token usage through usage credits, separate from seat usage, under an org-wide monthly spend limit (Team seats are $20/seat/mo billed annually, $25 monthly). GitHub only, and not available with Zero Data Retention or the HIPAA configuration. On any Claude plan you can still run /code-review locally in Claude Code.

💳 Claude Team and Enterprise only; no flat per-review price, billed on token usage through usage credits (Team seats from $20/seat/mo billed annually) (approx.)
  5. 05

    GitHub Copilot

Easiest if you already pay for Copilot: code review is in every paid plan (Pro $10/mo, Pro+ $39, Max $100; Business $19 and Enterprise $39 per user/mo) and works on GitHub.com, in VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains and Xcode, and in Azure DevOps (public preview). Each review uses AI credits: GitHub estimates $0.05–$1 per review at Lite effort and $0.25–$5 at Balanced, plus GitHub Actions minutes. Business and Enterprise orgs can turn on reviews for members without a Copilot license, billed to the org.

    💳 Free plan; Pro $10/mo; Pro+ $39/mo; Max $100/mo; Business $19/user/mo; Enterprise $39/user/mo (approx.)
  6. 06

    Qodo

Best for enforcing written standards across many repos: multi-agent PR review, an unlimited rules system, cross-repo review and pre-PR review skills, on GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and Azure DevOps. Pro Team is now sold as credit packs pooled across the team rather than per user: $30/mo for 2,500 credits (about 18 reviews), $60 for 5,000 (~36) or $240 for 20,000 (~144), billed monthly with no commitment and designed for up to 30 users. There is no permanent free tier after the 14-day trial, but qualified open-source projects can apply for free access.

💳 14-day free trial; Pro Team credit packs from $30/mo (2,500 credits, ~18 reviews) pooled across the team; free for qualified open-source projects (approx.)
